The Quality Enhancement Project

The Quality Enhancement Project’s goal and focus is
to make lasting improvements in the quality of early
care and education programs in the Mahoning Valley,
while being part of the process of systemic change for
the field.

The Quality Enhancement Project builds its
structure and content from the NAEYC Accreditation
Standards, Ohio Step Up to Quality voluntary quality
rating system, the Ohio Early Learning Content Standards, The Ohio Infant Toddler Guidelines, the Environmental Rating Scales authored by Thelma Harms, and the Child Development Associate Credential professional development requirements.

The aforementioned “ingredients” have been blended into the Quality Enhancement Project to create a system that mirrors national and Ohio early childhood initiatives.

The Quality Enhancement Project is a quality initiative of Child Care Connection, made possible through a grant from the Raymond John Wean Foundation.
