Lunch Program
-

(USDA).
-
Is administered by the Ohio Department of Education
(ODE)
-
Each day, 2.9 million children receive nutritious meals
and snacks through CACFP. (USDA
website)
The C.A.C.F.P. is important for family child care business providers
because…
- Millions of family child care home business providers are reimbursed
for serving nutritious meals and snacks to children in their care.
- Family child care home business providers have access to training on
Nutrition and related topics.
The C.A.C.F.P. is available to family child care home business providers
- A family child care home business provider must sign an agreement with
a sponsoring organization to participate in C.A.C.F.P.
- Child Care Connection is a sponsor of the C.A.C.F.P.
- Family child care home business providers must be certified or
alternately approved to provide day care services.
- The level of reimbursement for meals served to enrolled children in
day care homes is determined by economic need, based on either
- the location of the day care home, or
- the household income of the day care home provider, or
- the household income of each enrolled child.
- Meals served to the day care home provider’s own children are
reimbursable only if those children are determined eligible for free and
reduced price meals. (USDA/CACFP website)
