Training Fee Policy

In order to better meet the greatly increased demand for quality training classes - at a time when state funding has been reduced - Child Care Connection, as well as the other child care resource and referral agencies in Ohio have adopted new training fees beginning January 1, 2011.  Please pay special attention when you search for training on www.opdn.org. Once you select a training click the “more information” button to see if fees are applicable for your selected training.

All SUTQ prerequisite training courses will continue to be offered for free by every child care resource and referral agency.  The SUTQ prerequisites are the following:

Infant Toddler Coursework - Infant Toddler Guidelines -

7 modules @ 2.5 hours each = 17.5 hours

  • Infant & Toddler Guidelines Overview Module 1

  • Infant & Toddler Guidelines Physical Module 2

  • Infant & Toddler Guidelines Emotional Module 3

  • Infant & Toddler Guidelines Social Module 4

  • Infant & Toddler Guidelines Motor Module 5

  • Infant & Toddler Guidelines Language Module 6

  • Infant & Toddler Guidelines Cognitive Module 7

Preschool Coursework - Early Learning Content Standards -

1 module (building Blocks required first) @ 5 hours

plus 4 modules @ 10 hours each = 45 hours. 

  • The Building Blocks

  • OELCS English Language Arts Session 1 (parts 1 & 2)

  • OELCS English Language Arts Session 2 (parts 3 & 4)

  • OELCS Every Day Science Session 1 (parts 1 & 2)

  • OELCS Every Day Science Session 2 (parts 3 & 4)

  • OELCS Count Me In Mathematics Session 1 (parts 1 & 2)

  • OELCS Count Me In Mathematics Session 2 (parts 3 & 4)

  • ***OELCS Social Studies*** sessions not yet available

School-age Coursework - 6 sessions basic @ 2.5 hrs each = 15 hours

  • It's Basic! The Nuts & Bolts of Afterschool

  • It's Vital! All About Health, Safety & Nutrition

  • It's Useful! How to Create Quality Afterschool Spaces

  • It's Fundamental! Understanding Schoolage Children

  • It's Beneficial! Supporting Healthy Relationships

  • It's Teachable! How to Create a  Curriculum

Administrator Coursework - (administrative rule training by ODJFS 7.5 hrs) plus

they need 2.5 more

  • OELCS: Supervision & Leadership in Early Childhood

Total of 87.5 hours of free training
