Step Up to Quality
A voluntary, 3-star rating system
Goals:
- To improve the quality of early care and education settings in order to support children’s optimal development and learning.
- To provide parents with an easy to use tool to assist in selecting quality early care and education programs for their children.
All programs licensed by Ohio Department of Jobs & Family services are eligible to participate.
Step Up to Quality:
- recognizes programs that meet quality benchmarks over and above licensing standards.
- steps are based on national research that leads to improved outcomes for children.
- recognizes programs committed to achieving higher standards through annual quality achievement awards and access to T.E.A.C.H. scholarships (http://www.occrra.org/TEACH.htm).
